AFTERCARE / INSTALLATION SUPPORT

How to check your worktop support.

Look after the support beneath your stone, as well as the surface above it. Use this guide to check the visible support points and spot changes that need our attention.

01 / CABINETRY

Check contact beneath the stone.

Look inside the cabinetry and beneath the worktop. At the intended support points, check that the cabinet tops, rails or fitted supports are still in contact with the underside of the stone.

Where packers were fitted, the stone may be supported through those packers rather than directly on the cabinet. Look for new gaps, separation or a change from how it was fitted. You do not need to close every gap beneath the worktop.

02 / PACKERS

Make sure packers remain secure.

Packers are the small pieces fitted between the cabinetry or supports and the stone. Where you can safely reach them, check with a light touch that they are solid, firmly seated and do not move.

Do not pull them out, hammer them in or add your own. If a packer is loose, missing or no longer supporting the worktop, leave it in place and contact Ultra Marble.

03 / UPSTANDS

Look for gaps appearing.

Check behind the upstands, where visible, and along their junctions with the wall and worktop. Look for new or widening gaps, separation or a change in the sealant line.

Take clear photographs of anything that has changed and send them to our team. Do not pull the upstand away from the wall or cover a new gap before we have advised you.

04 / BESPOKE SINKS

Check the sink supports too.

If you have a bespoke sink, look inside the cabinet beneath it. Check that its fitted support remains in place and is still in contact with, and correctly supporting, the sink.

Look for loose, displaced or damaged supports, new gaps or visible movement. Do not move the sink, remove its supports or fill it with water as a test. If anything looks wrong, stop using it and contact our team.

AFTER YOUR CHECK

Confident everything is supported?

When your UMQ / UMS support check is due, sign in to your account and record your confirmation only if you have checked the installation and are satisfied it remains properly supported.

Unsure, or noticed a problem? Do not tick the confirmation. Contact us with your job number, photographs and a description of what has changed.

Reading this guide does not complete or backdate a support check. It does not replace an inspection by a professional or change any existing warranty terms. Other manufacturers' warranty processes remain unchanged.
